It’s been an interesting year for Ben – with a change of teams following financial issues with his team, Mission Racing, and then seeing him unable to replace his bike after going it alone, following a big “off” at Oulton park. Ben looked like he may be struggling to secure a ride for the remainder of the season, but GT Couriers continued to support him and as the saying goes “talent always shines through”. He was approached to ride for Team IMR riding the BMR1000RR for the rest of the season.
The Isle of Man-based squad will concentrate their efforts on the Long Eaton rider between now and the end of the season with the 23-year old joined by highly experienced Adrian Gorst for the remainder of 2018 with the former Honda Racing crew chief overseeing the campaign.
Ben has been contesting the Dickies British Supersport Championship this year but will turn his attention back to the Superstock series where he enjoyed some strong rides between 2015 and 2017. Last year saw him score points on five occasions, with a best of 12th place at Thruxton.
The team have a test planned for Ben at Oulton Park this weekend prior to making his official debut for the team at round nine of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Cadwell Park on August 17th-19th.
