Team GT Couriers completed yet another dedicated European van delivery this summer – this time to sunny Spain! Last month our trusty driver Stuart was tasked with the secure delivery of crucial events equipment from the UK down to Barcelona’s central conference centre.
The Trip
Monday 25th June
We loaded up the freight for Stuart in the evening to begin his journey early Tuesday morning down to the Channel Tunnel Folkstone Terminal.
Tuesday 26th June
Stuart arrived at Folkstone for the 8am trip across the English Channel. With only a slight delay in crossing, he arrived in Calais at 9.30 and headed for Orléans in north-central France via Arras and Paris for his first hotel stop, arriving at around 5.45pm. A good days driving with little in the way of traffic delays. Total run so far: 460 miles.
Wednesday 27th June
Stuart left Orléans and trucked on towards Perpignan, a city in the south of France near the Mediterranean coast, for hotel stop number two. Another traffic free drive. Total run: 450 miles.
Thursday 28th June
A nice and easy 2.5 hour run over the Spanish border at Le Perthus and into Barcelona to meet his delivery slot. The goods arrived in excellent undamaged condition, as you would expect, and signed for by a very happy recipient. With the delivery information relayed back to GT Headquarters as well as our client, Stuart is done with an early finish. Total run: 121 miles.
He now had the enviable job of staying in the vibrant city of Barcelona for the duration of the event, to then reload on July 4th for the return leg. And they say couriers have a hard life?

Utilising one of our 4 metre Mercedes Sprinter vans for Stuart’s trip, the GT vehicle of choice, the Sprinter is loved by all our drivers due to its high comfort level, driveability and prestige. It is equally loved by our transport manager for its fuel economy and reliability, and our ops team and customers for its versatility.
What it lacks in payload (960kg) it makes up for in load area – 4.2m bulkhead to back door, 1.8m load height through the back door and 1.35m between wheel arches means it can comfortably carry 4 UK standard or 5 Euro pallets – making it the ideal choice for our customers.
If your business could use this vehicle, or if you require a dedicated European delivery requirement, give our dedicated ops team a call on 01159 300868, or alternatively email us at ops@domain516643.stackstaging.com.
