With the introduction of driver PDA (AKA Personal Digital Assistant) technology to the courier industry verbal PODs, or Proof Of Delivery, may soon become a thing of the past for GT Couriers.
At GT we are currently trialling a new digital method – replacing verbal and paper confirmation with a real time hard copy POD direct to your inbox. This means that we will be able to immediately confirm collection times, along with timed drops, and relay this information directly to our clients or our clients customers.
No more waiting for post or scanned copies means more time to focus on what’s important – for us that is keeping our clients business running smoothly in the most hassle-free way possible. Going digital also streamlines our operation by cutting out the middle man. By leaving it with our drivers to confirm deliveries electronically our clients receive the most up-to-date PODs in the fastest time possible, without having to wait for input from our ops team.
Alway conscious of how our industry affects the environment, we are pleased that this new technology will also further reduce our carbon footprint by cutting down the amount of paperwork produced from each job.
We know that by embracing this new technology that we will be able to bring a new level of customer service to our clients. We are hoping our new system will be fully up and running by early in the 2019 new year, so watch this space!
